The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) has officially accepted Bass Fishing as a high school sport.
This means that high schoolers from all over the state can compete against each other! The winning teams go to the B.A.S.S. National High School Championship. So it’s time to get ready and hone those skills. Some go to Football Camp, others for basketball, baseball, soccer or even Band Camp!? Why not go to Bass Fishing Camp? Here’s the deal:
WHO: Varsity Bass Camp is designed for both the Middle Schooler and the High School angler.
WHAT: A newcomer to the sport gets introduced to bass fishing and is taught several techniques that are effective on area waters. Working together, we figure out what they like to do to catch fish and work on those specific techniques. We cover everything from gear and tackle, casting, electronics, sportsmanship and more.
For the more experienced angler we work on patterns and lure selection, electronics, reading the water, pre-fishing and tournament decision making. They will also learn how to navigate the boat using the trolling motor. It is a fun and intense experience.
WHERE: Depending on where the campers live, we will fish waters that they are likely to compete on in the future. There is no substitute for time on the water. Fishing will most likely be done on Lake Winnipesaukee, Squam Lake, Lake Winnisquam, Lake Wentworth, Newfound Lake and others.
WHEN: Camps run for 3 days. Hours are 7 AM-3 PM
2013 Summer Sessions: June 25-27, July 9-11, July 16-18, July 23-25, July 30-Aug 1, August 6-8, August 13-15
I am very flexible on my dates. I can do any three consecutive days (depending on availability) during the summer, or I am willing to work out one day a week for 3 weeks.
COST: $325 each for the 3 day camp/based on 2 campers. Kids are welcome to bring a friend or I will do my best to match them up.
